KABUL (Pajhwok): Top Russian and Indian diplomats are poised to meet today (Wednesday) on issues of common interest, including Afghanistan.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in New Delhi from Baku on a three-day visit to India, TASS news agency reported.
Lavrov will meet his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in addition to participating in a meeting of G20 foreign ministers
The Lavrov-Jaishankar talks will focus on the current situation in Afghanistan, the conflict in Ukraine and Asia-Pacific security.
The two-day meeting of G20 foreign ministers is scheduled to begin today. Representatives from 40 countries and organisations will attend the event.
A,pmg others, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang, Germany’s Annalena Baerbock and British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly are attending the meeting.
