UNAMA welcomes IEA’s counter-terrorism efforts 

KABUL (Pajhwok): The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has hailed the ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’ (IEA) fight against Daesh insurgents, narcotics and corruption, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Wednesday.

On its twitter handle, the MoI wrote: “The leadership of MoI held meeting with Markus Potzel, the UNAMA’s deputy head in the campus of the Ministry on of Interior”.

The source said, Maulavi Mohammad Nabi Omari, the deputy of the MoI, during his meeting with Potzel said that the security forces, especially the policemen have prioritized the security of the offices of UNAMA, foreign embassies and other institutions.

All those international institutions that tend to cooperate with Islamic Emirate can continue their cooperation in a secured environment, Omari said.

The International community must not neglect the achievements of Islamic Emirate in its struggle against the drugs, corruption and Deash Khurasan insurgent outfit.

Potzel stressed the UNAMA appreciate the achievements of IEA in counter narcotics and counter-corruption and its fight against ISK insurgents and rounding up the drugs addicts and their rehabilitation.

The source said that Potzel expressed hope to continue his meeting with the leadership of the IEA in the future.
