IEA unwilling to interact with world: Blinken

KABUL (Pajhwok): The US secretary of state Antony Blinken has said the acting Afghan government closed the door of interaction with the international community by enforcing ban on women education and work in Afghanistan.

Blinken expressed the view during his video address at the UN Human Right Council meeting.

Referring to the human rights violation in some nations, Blinken condemned Afghan government’s ban on women education and work in Afghanistan.

He added the acting Afghan government’s ban on women work in NGOs was another factor that forced the door of diplomatic ties to be closed with the international community.

“The IEA decision to keep the doors and educational institutions and offices closed on women may further harm the delivery of aid and essential items to a country where 29 million people are depended on international aid and assistance,” he warned.

Acting Afghan government has not responded to Blinken’s remarks but recently, Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar, economic aide of the acting prime minister, said that they wished cordial relationship with the world.
