TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Security forces have seized cannabis plant weighing 770 kilograms during separate operations in Chora and Dehrawud districts of central Uruzgan province.
Ehsanullah Hamas, press officer at the governor’s house, told Pajhwok Afghan News that security forces seized 440 kilograms of marijuana in Dehrawud district yesterday.
He said the plant had been hidden in a vehicle and was being smuggled elsewhere.
Hamas also said anti-narcotics forces also confiscated 330 kilograms of cannabis plant in Sangar area of Chora district this morning.
He added no one had been arrested on charges of transporting and smuggling the plants.
He said the cannabis seized in Chora district were burnt by government forces on the spot.
