To keep afghani stable, $16m being auctioned today

KABUL (Pajhwok): Amid continuing efforts to keep the afghani stable, the central bank is all poised to auction an amount of 16 million US dollars today (Monday).

In a statement on Sunday, Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) invited eligible lenders and money-exchange services to take part in the auction.

The winner will have to settle their accounts by the end of the day, according to DAB, which said partial payments were unacceptable.

In recent months, the central bank has arranged a series of dollar auctions to boost the value of the local currency. The latest auction took place here on Saturday.
