KABUL (Pajhwok): Kazakhstan Ambassador to Afghanistan Alim Khan Yasin Galdino has met Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and discussed bilateral trade, security, cultural and economic relationship, an official said on Sunday.
Foreign Ministry Deputy Spokesperson Hafiz Zia Ahmad on his Twitter handle wrote Kazakhstan ambassador called on Foreign Muttaqi in Kabul on Sunday afternoon.
Referring to expanding trade ties Ambassador Khan said that trade ties between the two countries reached $900 million in the past one year showing $300 million surge comparing to the past.
The envoy renewed commitment to improving political, trade and humanitarian relationship with Afghanistan and hoped that a fresh package of Kazakhstan’s humanitarian items would soon reach Afghanistan.
Foreign Minister Muttaqi hailed Kazakhstan’s opened and neutral policies and added there was need for greater cooperation between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan considering the rapid regional changes.
Muttaqi also hailed Kazakhstan’s embassy efforts for strengthening relationship between the two countries and said Afghanistan’s missions in Almaty and Astana was interacting with Kabul and hoped they will play positive role in strengthening ties between the two countries.
He hoped that diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Afghanistan would be further strengthened and both countries would get maximum advantage of the available opportunities.
