KABUL (Pajhwok): Foreign Ministers of Iran and Uzbekistan have discussed Afghanistan situation and stressed the need for cooperation of regional countries for stability in the war-torn country.
In its twitter handle, the Foreign Ministry of Iran, said that foreign minister Ami Abdollahian met with his Uzbek counterpart, Baxtiyor Saidov, in Tehran.
In addition to other issues, both sides emphasized on cooperation of regional countries for peace and stability in Afghanistan, the source wrote.
On Sunday, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have underlined the need for stability in Afghanistan.
The two sides agreed on the importance of a peaceful and stable Afghanistan and exchanged views on other issues of common interest.
Voicing his concern at the situation in Afghanistan, Bilawal cited Pakistan’s efforts to facilitate humanitarian assistance and promote stability in the war-devastated neighbour.
