CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): A three-day football competition between four local teams has kicked off in central Parwan province, an official said on Wednesday.
Abdul Zahir Khaliqyar, deputy head of the Sports and Physical Training, told Pajhwok afghan News the first match was held between Syedkhel District team and Charikar Municipality Team in which the later won the match 3-0.
He said: “We dubbed this tournament ‘Freedom and end of Afghanistan’s Occupation and wanted to send this message to the international community besides identifying the best side between these four team,’” he said.
Football Federation Director Mohammad Yasin Rahimi said the arrangement of sport competitions would help in the growth of youth and it also offered an opportunity for the exchange of views and introduction.
Information Director Mawlavi Shamsurrahman Sediqi during his address encouraged Parwan youth to play sport.
“No doubt sport improves health and strengthen body and it is a healthy activity for people special for the youth,” he added.
