KABUL/PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Nearly a dozen people have been killed and scores wounded in Afghanistan and neighbouring Pakistan in a magnitude 6.5 earthquake.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the overnight quake also shook India, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicentre was 40km south southeast of the Jurm district of Badakhshan province.
There is no information yet regarding casualties but the strong temblor was felt in Badakhshan, Kunduz, Takhar, Panjsher, Laghman and other provinces, government spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid tweeted.
But Reuters quoted Shafiullah Rahimi, a spokesperson for the disaster . . .
