KABUL (Pajhwok): The BBC has announced the launch of a new education initiative in Afghanistan for children barred from school.
Children aged 11 to 16, including girls whose secondary education has been suspended, will benefit from the programme.
Female Afghan journalists with the BBC, who were evacuated from Kabul in 2021, will host the weekly programme called Dars.
The BBC News Afghanistan channel will air each new weekly half-hour episode of Dars four times a day -- Saturday to Friday.
One of the Dari language presenters, Aalia Farzan, said: "Every day I speak to a lot of Afghan girls who are still in the country and they tell me they cannot go to school..."
