KABUL (Pajhwok): The acting minister of higher education has urged Pakistan to address the issues of Afghan students in that country.
The Ministry of Higher Education said Minister Nida Mohammad Nadeem held an introductory meeting with Mohammad Junaid Wazir, Pakistan’s charge d’affaires.
The acting minister referred to historic ties between Afghanistan and Pakistan, saying the neighbours enjoyed many religious and cultural commonalities.
Nadeem stressed the need for good ties between the two countries in the field of education and sharing of scientific and research experiences.
The minister asked the Pakistani diplomat to solve the problems of Afghan students in his country, extend educational agreements and provide more scholarships.
Wazir assured the minister of addressing the issues of Afghan students in Pakistan and working for strengthening bilateral academic relations.
Both sides also discussed the issuance of visas to students, educational contacts and sharing of scientific experiences.
