14,000kg ephedra recovered in Baghlan

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Counter-narcotics police have recovered 14,000 kilograms of ephedra in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Saturday.

Mohammad Nabi Kamran, director of counter-narcotics branch, said security personnel recovered 14,000 kilograms of ephedra in the Qara-i-Bator area of Baghlan-i-Markazi district on Friday.

He said the plant is also used in making one of crystal meth’s key ingredients.
