KABUL (Pajhwok): Security personnel in central Parwan province claimed on Saturday killing a Daesh (Islamic State) militant.
Three women and seven children were held from a house in Charikar, the provincial capital, were an operation was conducted, the police headquarters said.
Parwan police spokesman Mohammad Kamran Zaid told Pajhwok Afghan News, the security personnel raided the house in Teachers’ Township on Friday night.
A Daesh member was killed during the operation, Zaid said, adding three women and seven children were held by the security forces.
Zaid added the detainees had been displaced from Herat -- first to Kabul and then to Parwan -- following a crackdown on the rebel outfit in the western province.
Zaid said the women had confessed to the killing of the husband of one of them in Nimroz. The spouse of another woman was killed in Herat during a raid on Daesh fighters.
Authorities say the security forces conducted two operations in Nimroz and Herat provinces on April 4 and 5, killing several members of the group.
