KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has affirmed its commitment to even-handed development and prosperity of the country.
Deputy Prime Minister Maulvi Abdul Kabir held out the promise at a meeting with tribal elders and religious scholars from 16 northern and central provinces.
At Saturday’s meeting, the elders expressed their satisfaction with the IEA takeover and voiced support for the caretaker government’s policies.
They urged the execution of projects in their provinces in areas of education, health and development, the deputy premier’s office said.
In response, Kabir acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by the provinces for the victory of the Islamic Emirate. The residents of provinces deserved balanced development and reconstruction, he said.
At a separate meeting with investors, Kabir said all government entities were willing for cooperation with businesspeople investing in Afghanistan’s development.
For their part, the investors promised to execute incomplete projects in Kabul and rebuild several buildings in the capital.
They linked delays in their work to widespread corruption in the previous government. However, they said, their problems had been resolved by the incumbent administration.
