KABUL (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead the son of a former governor of Maidan Wardak, in the 5th police district of Kabul.
Habib Rahman Ibrahimi, a resident of Maidan Wardak and freelance journalist, told Pajhwok Afghan News Hamid Yameen was gunned down in front of his residence in the Spin Kalay area of Khoshal Khan Mena on Monday night.
He said the victim was the son former Maidan Wardak government Muzafaruddin Yameen. information about Yameen’s funeral also circulated on social media.
Muzafaruddin, also an ex-jihadi commander, was the governor of Maidan Wardak in the previous government. He also served as police chief of the province.
Pajhwok shared the issue with Kabul police, but they have not yet commented on the overnight incident.
