KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s captain Hashmatullah Shahidi’s mother has passed away due to an illness.
Shahidi wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday: "My mother, due to an illness, entrusted her soul to Allah.”
Afghanistan Cricket Board President Mirwais Ashraf also condoled with Shahidi on his Facebook page.
He wrote: “With great sadness, I received the news that the mother of our national hero and team captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, has passed away, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Hashmatullah Shahidi, his family and all his relatives.”
