KABUL (Pajhwok): The General Directorate of Customs has significantly exceeded its revenue collection target this last solar year, says the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
The 1401 revenue target for the directorate had been set at 96 billion afghanis, but the actual collection stood at 105.4 billion afghanis before the end of the year..
In the last fiscal year, a statement from the ministry said, customs staff collected 111.5 billion afghanis — 6.1 billion afghanis more than the target.
It is the highest collection by the customs directorate, constituting 57.7 percent of the overall national revenue in 1401.
According to MoF, 94.27 billion afs accrued from import duty, 15.24 billion afs from exports and 2.02 billion afs from transit fees.
