Nabi plans to set up cancer hospital in Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): Mohammad Nabi, a senior Afghan cricketer, has announced plans to build a cancer treatment hospital in Afghanistan under the name of Adei (mother).

The former skipper made the announcement on his Facebook page, saying he himself would finance the hospital project.

Over the last few days, a social media campaign for establishing “a well-equipped cancer hospital” has been underway.

Afghanistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) officials have confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News support for the campaign.

Meanwhile, a Logar based transport company has announced a donation of $100,000 for the proposed facility.

In addition, many other charitable organisations have also promised help for the construction of the a cancer treatment hospital.

Earlier, philanthropist Jawed Ibrahimi urged all well-off people of the country, including cricketers and welfare institutions, to build a cancer hospital in the country.
