5 water supply projects put into service in Nangarhar

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): About five water supply projects at a cost of 12,800 afghanis have been completed and put into service in eastern Nangarhar province.

The projects have been funded by the World Food Programme (WFP).

Director of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Qari Fazal Rahman Sadiq told Pajhwok Afghan News the projects covered the construction of 690-memters canal, and two other water-related schemes in Gulbahar village of Behsud district.

He said 200-meter canal of Nahr-i-Shahyee had been constructed and 10-kilometer canal repaired.

He added most of the farmers’ problems solved with the implementation of these projects and their crop would surge.
