LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): The body of a man, who drowned in Helmand River yesterday, was fished out on Monday.
The man drowned in the river in first security zone of Lashkargah city, the capital of southern Helmand province, yesterday and died.
Maulvi Mohammad Qasim Riaz, Deputy Director of Information and Culture, told Pajhwok the man drowned near Bost hospital in Lashkargah where some people were bathing in the river.
Five of them drowned in the water and four of them were rescued, but one person was missing.
According to him, security officials and divers found the body of the man this morning and handed it over to his family.
In neighboring Kandahar province, three people drowned in the Shahi Canal and one of them was found dead and two others were missing.
Before that a young man lost his life after drowning in Dehla dam in Kandahar province.
