JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Female high school students who sat their final exams last year have also registered for this year’s university entrance test in cold areas of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Sunday.
The female students belong to cold areas of Nangarhar, but female students who missed registration last year are also allowed to sit the entrance exam.
Nangarhar is relatively hot province and most of its schools are located in hot areas, but there are schools that belong to cold areas.
Farhad Ahmad Stanikzai, Nangarhar education department spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the registration process for the university entrance exam had commenced in the province and high school graduates of all schools could approach their respective schools.
He said: “Girls who sat the 12th grade exam and graduated from the twelfth grade as per order of the Ministry of Education, have visited their schools this year and received registration forms”.
He said female students who graduated from high schools in the past, but missed the Kankor exam due to problems could also visit their schools and get registration forms.
Soon after seizing power, the incumbent government banned girls from high schools and a few months ago prevented them from attending university classes.
