JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A child and a driver have been separately rescued from their kidnappers in eastern Nangarhar province, police said on Thursday.
Police spokesman Abdul BasirZabuli told Pajhwok Afghan News the child had been abducted by two brothers and kept at a house in Batikot district. Security forces rescued the child and handed him over to his family.
He said one of the kidnappers was captured and a manhunt launched to arrest the other one.
Separately, a driver, abducted from Behsud along along with his car, was rescued in Jalalabad City, the provincial capital.
According to Zabuli, two suspects were detained in connection with the driver’s kidnapping.
