FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A woman allegedly ended her life by eating rat poison due to domestic violence in northeastern Badakhshan province, police said on Friday.
Badakhshan police spokesman Ihsanullah Kamkar told Pajhwok Afghan News that Zubidah, a resident of the fifth security district of Faizabad, the provincial capital, was rushed to hospital on Thursday night after she consumed rat poison, but she died in the hospital.
Kamkar blamed the incident on domestic violence, but did not if anyone was arrested in connection with it.
