KABUL (Pajhwok): The Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) has agreed on reviving its Afghanistan group.
"Today, we agreed to revitalise the SCO-Afghanistan contact group," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after the meeting in India’s picturesque city of Goa on Friday.
The contact group had not met for quite a long time, Lavrov was quoted as saying by the state-controlled TASS news agency.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Bhutto-Zardari “(Afghanistan) after being the playground for great powers, time and time again, we owe it to the people of Afghanistan not to repeat the mistakes of the past.”
According to Reuters, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said: “Our immediate priorities include providing humanitarian assistance, ensuring a truly inclusive and representative government, combating terrorism and drug trafficking, and preserving the rights of women, children and minorities.”
