· 1 min read · 350 views

KABUL (Pajhwok): The European Union (EU) has expressed concern over the impact of climate change in Afghanistan, saying it can worsen the situation of Afghan people.

The EU Afghanistan mission tweeted: “#Climatechange affects us all, but #Afghanistan is one of the  most vulnerable nations to its impacts, ranked 176th out of 181 countries.”

The mission added more frequent natural hazards such as droughts or floods could worsen the situation of the Afghan people.

“Today we kicked-off a timely discussion on #climatechange in #Afghanistan with a highly knowledgeable group of Afghan climate experts, practitioners and activists,” it added.
