At least 8 killed as vehicle rams into Texas pedestrians

KABUL (Pajhwok): At least eight people have been killed and 10 others wounded as a man rammed his vehicle into a crowd of pedestrians in the United States, say American media reports.

The Associated Press reported on Monday the accident happened on Sunday morning at a bus stop in the border city of Brownsville in the state of Texas.

The SUV ploughed into a crowd of immigrants waiting out of their shelter at the bus stop. Most of the victims are citizens of Venezuela.

The driver, who was also injured, was caught and handed over to police by the people of the locality, the report said.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.
