PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): There is a strong consensus between Pakistan and China on working for a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says.
This consensus on stabilising the neighbouring country in the interest of the Afghan people was in evidence at the 5th Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue.
The trilateral meeting was hosted by Islamabad on Saturday, with the participants underlining the need for counter-terrorism cooperation and enhanced regional connectivity.
In a tweet on Sunday, the prime minister stressed: “Unlocking economic potential of the region remains contingent on restoration of regional peace and stability.”
He called Investing in peace and stability through a sustained collective focus to ensure win-win outcomes, including the success of initiatives got greater regional connectivity and socio-economic progress.
