Hanafi asks neighbors not to meddle in Afghanistan’s affairs

KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting deputy prime minister for administrative affairs Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi on Thursday once again asked neighboring and regional countries not to interfere in Afghanistan’s internal matters.

He said this while addressing gathering marking the 10th anniversary of the founder of the Islamic Emirate, Mullah Muhammad Omar Mujahid.

Remembering Mullah Omar, he said the founder of the movement ended anarchy and chaos in the country and established peace during his tenure.

Hanafi also said the general amnesty announced by the Islamic Emirate had been effectively enforced and no one was allowed to seek revenge.

“If someone takes revenge of past political activities, it is considered a crime,” he said, adding that the Afghans endured many hardships during the past 20 years and the current Islamic system was reestablished in the country as a result of great and historic sacrifices.

“The Islamic Emirate wants neighbors and countries of the region not to interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan, they should work with Afghanistan in economic fields.”

Hanafi said the Islamic Emirate had unprecedented and significant achievements in eliminating corruption, ensuring security and controlling narcotics.

Speaking on the occasion, acting Defense Minister Maulvi Yaqub Mujahid said he was ready to sacrifice his life for the freedom and independence of the country.

He said the current Islamic system in the country was established with the strong spirit of Mullah Muhammad Omar and all leaders followed his path and preserved the independence.

He said the enemies of Afghanistan had always tried to create a gap between the people and the system, asking the Afghans not to be fooled by their propaganda.

“Their objective is that they do not want a free, independent and strong government in Afghanistan and they do not want Afghanistan to be developed and rebuilt”.

Acting Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani said Mullah Omar could be remembered by applying his morals, deeds, actions and policies.

Haqqani said everyone was a partner in the system which was created to save Afghanistan.

Acting Hajj and Auqaf Minister Noor Mohammad Saqib said Mullah Mohammad Omar Mujahid was a brave person and had all qualities of leadership.
