Mullah Hassan is ill, Maulvi Kabir temporarily takes charge

KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy prime minister for political affairs Maulvi Abdul Kabir has been temporarily appointed as acting prime minister due to Mullah Mohammad Hassan’s illness.

After the regime change, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund was appointed as the acting prime minister and Maulvi Abdul Kabir as his deputy for political affairs.

Some sources told Pajhwok Afghan News that Mullah Hassan fell ill recently and has been in Kandahar province for some time.

Prime Minister of Qatar Mohammad bin Abdulrahman, who arrived in Afghanistan last week, met Mullah Hassan in Kandahar province.

A reliable source told Pajhwok Afghan News that Mullah Mohammad Hassan had fallen ill and had taken leave from his official duties.

The source said the Islamic Emirate leadership had appointed Maulvi Abdul Kabir in his place for a temporary period.

A decree in this regard from the Islamic Emirate leadership has been communicated to all ministries and related institutions.

Director General of Press and Ceremonies at the Political Office of the Prime Minister Mohammad Hassan Haqyar also confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News that Maulvi Abdul Kabir has been appointed as acting prime minister for a temporary period.
