KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) says emergency and intensive care unit facilities have been put into service at Rabia Balkhi hospital in Kabul.
The ministry tweeted that the construction work of the emergency department and ICU at the complex had been completed at a cost of nine million afghanis and put into service.
It also said the hospital’s surgical, obstetric, and gynecological departments and corridor were also repaired and renovated using MoPH budget.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, deputy public health minister Maulvi Habibullah Akhundzada said the Islamic Emirate after coming to power paid more attention to the health sector, especially specialized hospitals and standardization of the health system.
He considered the opening of the emergency and ICU an effective step in improving the quality of health services.
Acting Public Health Minister Dr. Qalandar Ebad called the construction of emergency and ICU at Rabia Balkhi hospital an important achievement for the health sector of the country.
Ebad said his ministry was striving to improve the health sector of the country.
