KABUL (Pajhwok): Former chief peace negotiator Dr. Abdullah Abdullah has met the UN’s deputy special representative and the Turkish ambassador.

At the meeting, the then chairman of the national reconciliation council, called for the continuation and enhancement of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

Abdullah wrote on his Twitter handle on May 17 that he met Markus Potzel, the deputy special representative of the UN secretary-general.

In addition to discussing the current situation in the country and the region, he appreciated the continued presence of the UN in Afghanistan at a time when its people were in serious need of assistance.

He also met Cihad Erginay, the Turkish ambassador in Kabul, and the delegation accompanying him, said the ex-foreign minister.

They discussed the current situation in the country and the region at large, Abdullah said, without detailing the topics they conferred on.
