JALALABAD (Pajhwok): More than 400 kilograms of explosive materials have been seized in Torkham port after being smuggled from Pakistan into Afghanistan, an official said on Thursday.
Sidiqullah Qureshi, a spokesman for the information and culture department of eastern Nangarhar province, told Pajhwok Afghan News 487 kilograms of explosives (dynamite) were recovered from a vehicle after entering Afghanistan from Pakistan.
He said the driver of the vehicle and another individual had been arrested in connection with the seizure.
Muslim Khaksaar, an official at Torkham port, assured that the smuggling of any kind of illicit things would be prevented at the dry port.
