Children among 4 killed as vehicle plunges into water in Baghlan

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Four people including children have been killed and one person injured when a vehicle plunged into a river in Pul-i-Khumri, the capital of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Friday.

Police Spokesperson Mawlavi Sher Ahmad Burhani told Pajhwok Afghan News a fielder type vehicle plunged into water on Thursday evening and as a result of this accident four people, including two children, were killed and the driver was injured.

Sher Mohammad, a local resident, said that family members of Syed Azam were onboard in the vehicle when the accident happened in the Nasrat Maini village. Two elder persons and two children were onboard in the vehicle.

Earlier, in a similar incident one child was killed when a vehicle plunged into water. The body was not recovered.
