KABUL (Pajhwok): Bangladesh appear to be wary of Afghanistan, saying they will not be experimenting in the series against the visitors.
Afghanistan will arrive in Dhaka on June 10 to play all three formats during tour of Bangladesh for the first time -- a one-off Test, three ODIs and two T20Is.
In their maiden Test match against Afghanistan in 2019 in Chattogram, the hosts were handed a humiliating a 224-run defeat
“Afghanistan are a good side. We won't be taking them lightly. The best possible side will be taking on Afghanistan,” the Bangladesh chief selector he said.
Following the Test in Dhaka from June 14 to 18, Afghanistan will visit India for a white-ball series and return to Bangladesh on July 1 for three ODIs in Chattogram from July 5 to 11.
The two sides are also scheduled to play two T20Is in Sylhet on July 14 and 16.
Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin hinted at Test skipper Shakib Al Hasan missing the four-day match against Afghanistan. However, he is expected to play the ODI series.
The Dhaka Tribune quoted the chief selectors as telling journalists the team’s focus was on the series against Afghanistan instead of the World Cup.
