SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): Multiple public welfare projects worth more than 500,000 afs have been launched in four districts of Sar-i-Pul province, officials said on Monday.

Kanishka Jalali, head of programs at Rural Rehabilitation and Development Directorate, told Pajhwok Afghan News the projects included digging and repair of 85 drinkable water wells and construction of 430 different sewerage systems.

The development projects are being implemented in different villages of Sancharak, Sozma Qala, Gosfandi and Balkhab districts and are financed by UNOCHA.

The residents of the mentioned districts are happy about the projects and say they need more such uplift projects.

Abdullah, a resident of Khurasan village of Sancharak district, said: “We have been facing scarcity of water and the projects will make it possible to have access to clean drinking water”.

Salik, a resident of Sozma Qala district, said their area was deprived of many facilities of life.
