KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) says its ABADEI project has supported nearly 13,000 women farmers since 2021 in Afghanistan.
In a tweet yesterday, UNDP its ABADEI project supported nearly 13,000 women in agriculture and livestock since 2021.
The UN agency did not provide information about provinces where the women farmers were assisted.
However, it mentioned an Afghan woman, Fatima, who is the sole breadwinner of her family.
Fatima sells yogurt and curd made with goats provided by UNDP to continue her life.
Meanwhile, UNDP said it provided skills training for more than 65,000 people, with a special focus on youth and marginalised groups, across all eight regions of Afghanistan.
It should be noted that many families in rural areas of the country rely on agriculture and livestock.
