MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Twenty Afghan railway engineers from the railway department of northern Balkh province have been introduced to an Uzbek Railway Company for a six-month theoretical and practical training.
Attaullah Haji Zaid, Balkh governor’s spokesman said, under an agreement between Balkh railway department and Sogdiana Trans Company of Uzbekistan, 20 Afghan engineers would be trained for a period of six months.
The Sogdiana Trans is currently maintaining and protecting Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway line, Zaid added.
According to Zaid, after the training, the engineers will then join Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway project technical team.
