KABUL (Pajhwok): Former Senator Mohammad Umar Sherzad says armed men have taken his armoured vehicle from his house in capital Kabul while police are investigating the incident and hoped that people who snatched the vehicle would be arrested.
Sherzad who also served as Uruzgan Governor in the past regime on his Facebook page wrote: “Last Monday, some Taliban who introduce themselves as the officials of 5th Police District forced their way into my house in Khoshal Khan locality and taken my personal armored vehicle that I purchased 12 years ago for my personal use.”
He said that he had been out of the country for treatment and currently his relative lived in his house.
He said the armed men who went to his house told his relative: “We come here to take the armored vehicle because it has no registration papers.”
He added: “My relative showed resistance and said it is personal vehicle and has formal letter from the Intelligence Department, but still they used forced and took the vehicle key on a gunpoint and took the vehicle with themselves.”
He also released some photos in which armed personnel could be seen close to the vehicle.
Sherzad claimed: “We lodge our complain to make the issue official but unfortunately not authority took action and did not paid head to the issue.”
He stressed his vehicle had official registration document and added when there is official letter then nobody has the right to act against the official documents.
Police Chief Khalid Zadran said: “We received their application and were are investigating the incident, we will see who took the vehicle, who went to take the vehicle.”
“So far we could not reveal the reality but we will arrest individuals who took the vehicle,” he added.
Zadran said when their investigation completed it would be shared with the media.
