He was confident that affairs of the civil airport had improved and made recommendations to the airport officials about provision of land for civil flights and cooperation in other areas.
Nangarhar Civil Airport commander Rahmatullah Shuja said the airport was activated after the Islamic Emirate’s takeover.
He said that the civil airport terminal had all necessary equipment and services and could provide good services to passengers.
He called on the central government and airlines to commence flights to Nangarhar to facilitate the people of the eastern zone.
The airport served as a major base of NATO and American forces during the past 20 years and civilian flights were not conducted from it.
