KABUL (Pajhwok): A total of 7,036 Afghan refugees returned from Pakistan via the Spin Boldak crossing into southern Kandahar province last month, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said on Monday.
On its twitter handle, IOM wrote: “Returning Afghan migrants are some of the most vulnerable groups.”
“Since May 2023, our teams have provided post-arrival assistance to 7,036 returnees in IOM’s transit centre at the Spin Boldak border point in #Kandahar,” the source wrote.
The IOM also provides essential aid such as clothes, blankets and food items in addition to paying transportation costs to Afghan refugees returning voluntarily to Afghanistan.
