JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A child laborer was hit by a truck and died at Torkham port in eastern Nangarhar province on Monday, an official said.
Officials said the child was a resident of Achin district and worked as courier at Torkham port.
Torkham Commissioner Maulvi Qismatullah Mubariz said the child worker was bringing sugar from Pakistan to Afghanistan when he was hit by a truck near Pakistan's scanner.
He said the incident happened around 4pm and the child had died.
A number of workers have lost their lives in similar incidents at Torkham.
