FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Eleven foreign tourists on Tuesday arrived in western Ghor province and visited historic sites, an official said on Tuesday.
Maulavi Mohammad Hamas, head of Information and Culture Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News the tourists were from Italy and China who traveled to Ghor province today (Tuesday) and visited some historic sites.
The tourists also discussed the situation of historical monuments of the province with provincial officials of the Information and Culture Department, Hamas said.
Hamas added: “Ghor province has many tourist attractions and historic sites that are worth visiting by domestic and international tourists”.
The provincial officials are trying to provide more facilities to both domestic and foreign tourists, he said
He added after the Islamic Emirate’s takeover, the security improved, allowing tourists to visit the province.
Provincial officials say majority of the visitors and tourists throng the historic Jam Minaret and some other historic sites.
These 11 tourists visited Ghor province after other tourists from the US, Australia, Germany, France and Iran visited Jam Minaret and some other historic sites.
