7 drugs processing factories set alight in Helmand

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Seven drugs processing factories were set alight in the Baghran district of southern Helmand province, an official said on Saturday.

Maulvi Muhammad Qasim Riaz, Deputy Director of Information and Culture, told Pajhwok that security personnel destroyed seven ephedra plant processing factories in Baghran district.

He said 14 people were arrested along with a large amount of ephedra plant and handed over to the relevant body for investigation.

He added the use of ephedra plant was prohibited under a decree from the Islamic Emirate leadership and serious measures were being taken in this regard.
