JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A recreation park is being constructed in this capital city of eastern Nangarhar province with financial support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The park, an 11.16 million afghanis project, is being constructed on 1.5 acres of land in the fourth security district of Jalalabad city.
Hafiz Ahmad, the fourth district chief, during a ceremony marking the launch of work on the park’s construction, said it would be a standard park with all facilities for Jalalabad residents.
He said about 200 people found work opportunity in the project.
Jalalabad residents were happy over the launch of work on the recreation park.
Anwar Shah, a resident whose house is located near the park, said such parks should be constructed in all districts of the city.
Mohammad Wali, a worker in the project, told Pajhwok that the government should invest in fundamental projects in order to overcome unemployment.
