Mentally-ill student ‘commits suicide’ in Badghis

QALA-I-NAW/LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A student of religious school has committed suicide by hanging himself to death in western Badghis province.

In a statement, the police headquarters said that the incident took place in Kalakhani village of Sang-i-Atash district on Tuesday evening.

The source said a mentally-ill student of a seminary ended his life by hanging himself.

According to another report, two individuals have been detained in connection with iron smuggling in Helmand province.

Maulvi Mohammad Qasim Riza, director of information and culture, told Pajhwok that security forces had seized two iron-laden vehicles in Garmser district.

He said the detainees wanted to smuggle iron, furniture and some other goods out of the country.
