KABUL (Pajhwok): Kabul Municipality has identified places for the sale and purchase of domestic animals ahead of Eid-ul-Adha and vowed the practice will not be allowed in other places.
Municipality Spokesperson Niamatullah Barakzai told Pajhwok Afghan News: “As Eid-ul-Adha is near so places for the sale and purchase of domestic animals have been identified, no one is allowed to sell animals outside these places.”
According to the municipality information Qala-i-Barqi area in 10th Municipality District, Alokhel area between 12th and 16th Municipality District, Karezmir area in 17th Municipality District, Nakhas area in 5th Municipality District and Changhar area in 13th Municipality District have been identified as cattle market.
Kabul residents are happy about the municipality strategy.
Hameeda, the resident of Khairkhana locality, said: “We are happy about this step of Municipality because the sale and purchase of animals inside the city cause disorder and result into pollution as well.
Abdul Hameed, the resident of Taimani area of Kabul welcomed Municipality step to identify special places for the cattle market and said: “This a positive step, it can help keep the city clean and also for individuals who want to buy animal they can go to the market.”
He also called on municipality administration to ensure that all animals remaining during Eid transferred from the city.
