FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Inter-club limited overs cricket tournament has concluded with Khan Club wining the trophy in southeastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Wednesday.
The contest was started on June 14 in which teams Badakhshan Star, Pamir Club, Oqaban Badakhshan and Wakhan Club appeared. The final was played between Badakhshan Star and Khan Club on Tuesday.
Syed Noorullah Qureshi, head of the Badakhshan Cricket, said in Tuesday final Khan Club chased down 194 runs target set by Khan Club at the loss of one wicket.
Information Director Maazuddin Ahmadi termed cricket as tool of unity among people and said: “We witness major development in the area of sport and it is considered one of the major achievement of the current Islamic system.”
