Man rescued, 2 kidnappers detained in Balkh

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Security forces have rescued a captive and arrested two abductors in northern Balkh province.

In a statement, the media office of the governor’s house said that special forces conducted a raid for the release of Zabihullah, who had been abducted from Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital, on last Friday.

The source said two abductors had been arrested and the captive, Zabihullah, was rescued and reunited with his family.

The security personnel also seized some weapons from the kidnappers, it added.

Meanwhile, Balkh police headquarters in a statement said that security personnel had recovered some weapons in Mazar-i-Sharif and some districts.

According to the source, the recovered weapons included 13 Kalashnikovs, five pistols and a rocket.
