KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Transport and Aviation says 30,316 people, including eight children, have been transported to Saudi Arabia to perform the sacred pilgrimage through 89 flights.
The ministry wrote on its Twitter on Thursday that the process of transporting Afghan pilgrims to Saudi Arabia concluded today.
The last flight took off this morning from Kabul Airport and a total of 30,316 pilgrims were transported to Saudi Arabia on 89 flights.
The ministry said 11,127 people including four children were flown from Kabul Airport on 32 flights, 6,552 people on 19 flights from Balkh Airport, 4,935 people on 15 flights from Herat Airport and Kandahar Airport. 7,702 people, including four children in 23 flights to perform hajj.
This year more than two million people from all over the world will reach Saudi Arabia to perform hajj.
