KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in Afghanistan says Iceland has contributed 40 million Icelandic Krona ($294,000) in humanitarian aid.
OCHA Afghanistan tweeted: “For being a regular donor to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF). Your continued support is saving lives in #Afghanistan.
“With this new contribution of ISK 40M, Iceland has contributed ISK 135M to the AHF since 2020.”
OCHA has previously said more than 28 million Afghans will need humanitarian assistance in 2023 to survive.
